Gone For A Walk
6 x 6, oil
In the world before cell phones, families left notes behind to let them know where they were. Very often, I would walk into my grandmother's house and see a little note on her kitchen table that simply said, "Gone for a walk" in her beautiful handwriting. This is a painting of her walking towards my first home, rounding the corner from Tillison Road and headed down Lonz. Paw Paw's dalmatian, Checkers, always accompanied her on her walks. He had a liking for beer cans and would embarrass the stew out of Granny by bringing them back from his adventures and dropping them all over her yard.
