Artist's Block

I have it.  I had heard of it, maybe experienced it mildly last summer.  It's scary.  Suggestions welcomed and appreciated.

  1. I wish I had some advice for you, Gina. I always look at a block as a growing experience. Perhaps looking at other artists' work would be inspiring. Or maybe you just need a break and when taken you will return refreshed. I hope your block is broken soon, because I am VERY selfish and I enjoy your work! :-)

  2. No seriously, paint some blocks. In many different ways or with a tool you don't usually use....When you get so sick of painting blocks, you will know you are past this one....Dedicate yourself to painting the finest blocks ever.

  3. oh, and this too shall pass...I had it this summer too. I spent some time away from home and just took photographs that I thought I'd like to paint this winter....It helps to step away from the easel and the laundry sometimes ;)

  4. Good luck Gina!

Taking another artist's workshop helps me... like learning a new technique or maybe watching some art/artist video's...

Again, good luck and I know it's hard, but hang in there and "keep at it" as my artist neighbor John Ross says.
