555 Turrentine

555 Turrentine
10 x 10, oil on linen

My friend Harry came up while I was painting this house on Turrentine Avenue last Friday.  He asked me why I chose this home to paint, and I told him that I'd always wanted to paint it, but for some reason I had always talked myself out of it.  I love the symmetry of the home.  He asked me if I knew the symbolism of 555 in the Bible, and I did not.  He said, "I'm going to let you find out on your own."

Did you know that "Christ" is mentioned 555 times in the New Testament?  Now how cool is that?  I love trivia like that.

This painting is available at the wet paint sale at the Gadsden Museum of Art.
